It's an hour into Sunday when I'm writing this, and the end of the weekend. And yet, this is the first time I've actually touched the Internet since Thursday night. It's been a very busy weekend indeed.
I'm still listening to the playlist composed of the 30 songs I answered in a survey for Facebook. Thirty songs I can't live without? Most definitely. I think I shall be keeping this on loop for a while.
My favorite kind of days are shortened period Fridays. #1 - they're shortened periods (duh) #2 - It's CSO Meeting Day #3 - Mass! #4 - TGIF. Last Friday, we had that exact kind of day. I went to Mass in the morning, making it in the first reading for the Sanggu-HS Choir Duty because I had to walk from MC.
We kicked it off kinda light with Media, where Ricky, Luigi, Jason and I (sans Dabz) discussed our Media presentation on Monday - we decided to report on the evolution of the musical movie, from Grease and Footloose and Fame way out in front moving into Disney Classic territory all the way into its rebirth with Chicago, The Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia! and even contemporary ones like the High School Musical franchise and Hannah Montana The Movie. Since I'm the Movie Guy, I'm doing the PowerPoint, which I shall dotomorrow later now with all the stuff I have to do.
Physics and Math of course were the most technical subjects of the day. Recess was a little stressful with everything to do. I went up to Sir Chan in the OSA to give him the PE Shirt he ordered, and then over to the APSA to make an announcement, then to 3A to drop off a couple of palancas (I would've wanted to write more, but I had no time), then off to the Cashier to rent my graphing calculator, then to the ITC to claim it, and then all the way back to Arrupe Hall for English Class.
English Class was fun, because we did a 40 Second Hamlet, and my group decided to turn it into a sodo-line. If you wanna know what that is, you'd have to ask me. :P At least it became a little more interesting. We had the most time, but we had the funnest time. Other people even came and joined our group. Then we had a few more mishaps with the other groups. TD capped it all off before the Intrams Opening, where we presented our NEW, REVAMPED class mascot in the form of Bugsy as Adonis Agen, Aprub ng APSA, the sequel to last year's monster hit Angas na Adonis ng Alemanya. Bugsy rocked that. He certainly did an excellent job of representing our class. I loved it. Bravo, Bugsy.
E-Board Meeting followed, and then a general Sanggu-HS Briefing by our SAC, Mr. Capinding. Being the first day of CAT Deferrment, he brought up the fact that we should treat things like this (others include the Sanggu-HS Retreat, the aircon, the food, etc.) as more of aids to our service to the school and not to abuse them like perks. I totally agree. I hope we can avoid, at least the Sanggu-HS, another embarassing fiasco in the upcoming St. Ignatius Military Mass. (Oh, people love to abuse this deferrment)
Friday was very special because it was our first CSO Friday Council Meeting ever. Marte was absent because of his retreat, and Dabz was out because of his sickness, but it was still pretty refreshing. It felt... somewhat familiar, and brought back some of my memories with CSO10 (I miss the guys so much more than I let on, actually--no one can replace them).
After the meeting, Apa and I hung back for some OSA wandering before I got picked up to go watch the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee by Atlantis Productions, which was as funny as the first time--and just as endearing all over again. They added a little MJ Tribute in it, which was a nice touch. I like how Logainne, the politically active speller in the bee, referenced the American Idol Finale.
Saturday. I went over to school early for the SEALS Planning Session with the officers and our moderators. Some had to leave early, which left Barce and Sirs Rye and John and me to discuss the rest. We had a very, very successful planning, in which we took care of recruitment, our schedule for the whole year, and even our tentative budget. We got into a nice chat about how politics has changed humanity forever (I kid you not. I am now inspired to write an impassioned essay), something that makes me more excited for the SEALS Org Year (less org sessions because of all the suspensions, but we'll do it) and of course, more inspired to make a change in my community and country (whoa, slow down there).
The most important thing that we did was to set our new priority area for the year, which was partly inspired by our secretary, Chris Tan of 2-B. It's called H.U.G. your inner leader/H.U.G. the leader in you. Hone, Utilize and Give the leader in you. >:D< I love it. And we're serious. I'd defend it for anyone who'd ask.
My parents picked me up for some merienda before dropping of my sister at Dulaang Sibol's last showing of Hervacio Tubulan (cool show if you missed it). We went to Mass and the supermarket along Katipunan while waiting for her, before moving onto dinner and Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs. I came in with rock-bottom expectations, given the quality of the second film, but I ended up really liking it. It started off really badly, but it picked itself in the end with great storytelling and action scenes. And, it's quite funny, with one part being extremely hilarious. If you hadn't seen this and giant robot movie, I'd ask you to see this instead. Really. Grade: B/B-
Ciao. Got to go and sleep now. Homework and Org Work starts in a few hours. I shall be piled to my neck. But of course I'll find a way to still have fun. And a haircut. ;)
